Folding Mirror Oiling
One of my wing mirrors is struggling to fold in and on a few occasions doesn't move at all. I don't want the motor to burn out so looking to lubricate the mechanism. To get at the insides does the mirror glass have to come off or can the back panel come away?

The mirror glass is an easy removal if you use plastic trim removal levers. (£5 on ebay) Don't try with a metal screw driver!

If you're in a rush you can buy this set from Halfords, I bought these to replace my bumper:

£16! If you want to be royally ripped off! These are the very same ones for which I paid just £5 on ebay!

Or just adjust mirror all the way down and pull off from the top, changed both my glass this way, very easy.

What do you propose to use as lubricant, mine froze up last winter.

1If you know it's going to be icey best not to fold or manually fold before locking, when you unlock the mirrors stay folded until you manually unfold them. Me thinks.

I've got some silicone grease. Going to try it at weekend by pulling the glass off to what the access is like.
