Oh dear. This message arrived as I left Nottingham this evening. Managed to make it the 60 miles home with judicious use of sidelights.

Without checking, I suspect the alternator has failed. Insufficient juice left to start in morning.

Question - can I charge the battery overnight using the underbonnet jump start points to enable me to start it and get a multimeter on it?

The alternators on our P2s are incredibly reliable so it could be something as simple as worn brushes.
Lots of videos on my YouTube channel including replacing the brush pack.
