Yes, the question really is WHY?, isn't it. What makes someone take an ordinary car, with a 1.2, or 1.4 l engine, and make it look stupid? Do they think we'll be fooled into thinking that because they've stuck on a stupid body kit it will all of a sudden make the car go dead fast? Why not spend the money on a better car?

They should put all the money into a good engine swap. Seen so many chaved up 1.2s when there is a 1.8l or 2.0L straight drop in for their car.

Other times they do actually put good engines in then wreck the car by weighing it down with a ton of speakers.

See tons of Chavved up Corsas with C20LET engines. Should have left it stock exterior and had a sleeper.

I remember putting a chrome effect exhaust trim on a corsa. Couldn't afford a fancy exhaust, so put the trim on. It was a 5 door corsa too, not a sporty 3 door. I was 19. It fell off.

Can't say I was that guilty as some of these cars show - apart from I was well into stripes. Had them everywhere, along with loads of lights across the grill, with the middle 2 pointing high and to the right on a seperate switch - so I could 'illuminate' drivers who put full beam on at me..lol. The joy of youth!!

Regards

I'm glad to say I never went as far as fitting one of those chavy body kits on my cars. But I did have the stick on half a golf ball that looks like its stuck in the glass, the half a Garfield sticking out of the front grill of my Granada, spotlights and airhorns. Having a father who was a coach builder and used to also use my car kept me on the straight and narrow with car styling

I did something similar with a viva estate. got hold of the 2.3 drivetrain from a firenza and dropped that in ported/gasflowed and not far off blueprinted . looked like a bog standard car from the outside but press the go pedal and it was great for putting a smile across my face. sadly the laws of physics provided a practical demo one christmas and it ended upside down in a ditch after aquaplaning .

I had a Viva Coupe and I would have love to have dropped the gubbins out of a Firenza in it. I got as far as fitting a set of Rostyles and respraying it in red. Looked good though, used to get pulled by the Rozzers on a regular basis
