Gearbox oil spec - what does everyone use
Hi all,
My first post on this part of the forum as I normally post on the V70 sections. My son has just bought a 2014 V40 D2 manual and as part of the normal service on our vehicles we always change the gearbox oil. My question is whats then spec for the oil? I've found reference to BOT 352 B1 but this just takes me back to the Volvo gearbox oil at £30 per litre. Just wondered what others have used which might not be soooo expensive. Thanks |

I think that will be the 1.6D2 which I believe has a Ford gearbox.
There is something about using genuine Volvo fluid as it always works a best as it can and sellers on e-bay such as Volvo parts trade offer it at competitive prices. But it has to be said that many other brands would be perfectly acceptable. In your shoes I would probably be using this.... I used in my V50 years back (2.0D engine with Ford box). https://www.commaoil.com/passenger-v...ducts/view/551
