Default C D. Problems

I have an 05 XC90 with premium sound but no aux.

My problem is that the previous owner has managed to get a CD stuck in the unit and it won't eject. I have tried all the tricks shown on YouTube etc to no avail.
I have noticed that the CD units eject button does not light up. But you can hear the CD unit trying to either load or eject the jammed CD.

My question is that if I removed the whole headunit and radio then unplug it while I dismantle the radio and CD unit and retrieve the stuck CDs will I have any security codes or other problems that will require codes inputting before the replacing of CD and raidio unit to play again?
I ask because I have looked through the cars handbook and can't find a code or anything that may be required.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Hi, no code to enter but suggest disconnecting battery -ve and be careful not to crimp the two orange 'wires' which are in fact fibre optic and do not like to be crimped.

There are loads of YouTube videos about ICM removal, just be careful.

Let us know how you get on.

I had this happened before.

Finally after sheer desperation, I disassembled the unit bit by bit up to the point I could retrieve the CD. Unfortunately I didn't took any pictures along the way. But it was a whole lot of tiny screws I recall. Sorry couldn't offer a better advice.

Not recommended for the light hearted but my CD unit is still working fine after the 'surgery'.

But if it goes pear shaped, lots of second hand units on eBay at about £60.

Those tricks with a spare CD would work if only 1 CD is jammed, if a prev owner (or some young kid) forced in several of these, indeed it must be opened - for future users, don,t forget to have the car battery disconnected during the repair https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8R9KVBl2-4
