Default Reduced Engine Performance

Hi All I have a 2005 S40 1.6 petrol. Car was fine until last night when it died. The battery had packed in. Called out the RAC who got it restarted. It was a bit lumpy so they cleaned the throttle body and now all seems to be working fine. Only problem now is I get the reduced engine performance message on the dash. Car drives and accelerates fine with no noticeable difference. Any thoughts or ideas welcome.

There'll be fault codes stored, you should get it read with a code reader. Ideally Vida.

You can try the ELM327 bluetooth dongle - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Version-Blu.../dp/B0136BJ0XC - and the Torque App on your smartphone.

Other than that I'm not sure what other fault code readers are good.

Hi all bought one of these little devices and can work it fine however it doesn't find any fault codes on the car. The reduced engine performance light has been on for a while now but not noticing any difference. Can the actual reduced engine performance light be faulty?

I wouldn't have thought so.

When it comes to Volvos, not all fault code readers are created equal. Due to the indepth system on Volvos, some will read general fault codes and others won't read anything.
