Default Volvo C30 Anti Skid Service Required and Engine Light Issues

Hi All,

The standard Anti Skid Service message and amber engine management light has appeared on the car and have got my VIDA reader on the car to show the following error codes:

BCM-0101 - Communication between control units, communicational problems with ECM.
ECM-4487 - EGR Control - Flow too high
ECM-44A0 - EGR Valve - Signal too low
ECM-6720 - EGR Control - Flow too high

My car: 2009 Volvo C30 1.6D R Type Diesel Car

Obviously this suggests the EGR Valve potentially needs replacing but unsure if this relates to the anti skid service message. I got the EGR Valve replaced a couple years ago so im surprised this needs replacing but this was done by a friend so not much of surprise I guess. Just would like some guidance if possible to confirm what the issue is and is there a specialist in the Cambridgeshire area that I could take this to other than the main dealership?

Kind Regards,
Mark

Hi
I own a 2006 C70, a while back the display was showing all kinds of faults, including Anti Skid Service Required, went into limp mode a couple of times, turned out the CEM needed a clean. Might be worth looking at before you start to pay for replacement parts.
Regards
Fred

yes the antiskid device warning comes on when the EGR messes up, i can 100% confirm this. Even comes on if you just disconnect the connector (After a while)

Dont wait around, the failing EGR has the potential to short the power supply due to water vapour getting into the electronic section on top, the same supply also supplies the fuel pressure sensor. The car just dies randomly whilst driving. Had these fun and games few months ago Id disconnect now before it has the chance, strangely mine never once went into limp mode with it off, just the annoy antiskid messages.
