Default Front light Wiper falure

Hi,
Just back from Sweden, so car's been 'home'. Did not do many miles but saw many of the new digital 24/7 cameras - ouch !. Good driving in general although traffic very 'slow' compared to here but hey that was OK as we were on holiday. I do like the way lorries help you on the road ie keep right to the edge if/when its possible to overtake, wish this would be the case in this country. Overall all went well but we did suffer as I have no aircon and boy was it hot !. Petrol was a lot cheaper too even got 33MPG which I have never had before. proabably due to the lower speeds...
Now to my problem, drivers side headlight wiper stick in various positions after use, thought that the 'light benders' had something to do with it but its still here now when I am back, any ideas - do I buy new from Volvo, get 2nd hand from breaker or simply disconnect it... I see under 'parts from sale' that there is a 960 breaking, does it have the same wiper motor as my 97 945 ???
Thanks in advance.

Excuse my thickness, but what new digital 24/7 cameras are these?

Regards, Nick H.

I assume that Sweden are switching to digital speed cameras rarther than film based ones as here..
So, cameras do not run out of film.
Hope no one told them that they can run out of memory..

Thumbs up

Hi. Remove the wiper arm and apply liberal amounts of WD40.Operate the wiper motor and make sure it is not sticking.Replace the arm and check all is ok.With a bit of luck problem solved.Regards. Bob.

The cameras are narrow blue boxes on poles, they are not well sign posted unlike what the Swedish roads athority has said in the past. They work 24/7 but apparently only take photo's under 'certain circumstances' whatever that now means... suppose peak traffic or dodgy weather. They are all linked to a monitoring centre right in the north of Sweden where they get checked and tickets then issued. Apparently since their introduction they have reduced the av.speed by 5 mph to date. They are not able to take pic's of MC's as they take the pic from the front ie no number plates on bikes.

Now then any ideas re the wiper problem I have??
