Question gearbox rebuild 2.3 t5 c70

hi guys,i have just had my automatic gearbox rebuilt cost approx £2000.00 and took a month to complete, problem with getting the parts from amsterdam or so they said.was suppose to be finished friday i phone up on monday pm the car was taken to a volvo dealer as the car would not run right computor had to be up-dated,when they plugged in what ever they plug in,and ran what ever they had to run the car now does not even start.
is this normally on a major overhauled that the car got to be up dated,is the car ever going to be the same, they are suppose to be down loading a whole new program.has any body heard of this because i have not.

I have heard of it on the Semi Auto Vauxhall needing to be updated yes as I've got one which had to be updated and also doesn't work so it's still at the dealership.

You don't say if it's a standard fluid auto or one of the semi/switchable autos? Fluid autos nope never heard of it as there's nothing much to go wrong. If it's semi then the brain does fail as above car failed and locked the entire thing down.
