Default top coated red block

hi ya all

well what a real nice hot day , paint drying was great so had got my two coats on the engine - one coat in the morning and the final top coat in the afternoon came out realy good .

i also fitted my bench in the workshop ready to tackle the finer tasks , also painted some areas on the car while engine is out plus the crossmember so a top coat on them and then its a case of putting the old gal back together bit by bit

Did I see a tin of Smoothrite? Doesn't look a bad match for the Volvo red.

SIX pictures of an engine? Looks like you are a proud "Dad".

Yeah, I'm a bit jealous; should have painted mine when I had it out....

Default full carpet set made for amazon

@ 122 canuck yes sadly i must fund the next one but its going to be on the road for many years to come i agree with you lucky buyer .

a little update while i have been waiting on the return of the crossmember i have had to fill in time doing those little pesky jobs that take time and also look rewarding when you stand back not a big show i know but it will come together fast when i have the crossmember fitted ( engines ready to slide in the bay )

so i have made from scratch a full black carpet set using - a older set as a template i have had at hand although soon to be gone as dads using it maybe in a project so i must cut another set soon so that i have a template of my own lol , must get some more carpet ordered up tho ...

i have laid it inside the car to settle i will be removing again when the times right and i can fit the rubber gator when im happy how its laid over next week or so i will trim & remove at that point i may edge the carpet set so it has a pro look but its sitting really well atm so may let it go as i have used automotive carpet with a rubber backing no fraying will happen then so edging is not so important than normal due to this reason .
sorry i had taken more photos but most came out dark just in the workshop the sun shines right in front doors and blurs photos or it goes the other way dull images few images show ok but i will take more when the interior is fitted .

also i have started cleaning five wheels up ready to prime ( epoxy naturally ) and paint the photo was prior to cleaning they look rough atm till rubbed down .

fitted the boot handle /number plate light and got some electrics tidied up in the boot & one rear light , i need to find a good one to complete a set for it.

i have made a start on getting parts cleaned up ready to assemble the doors again to full state , i was wanting to fit the new rear glass i have but with wet WD40 hands slippery little sucker that is so will need a spare pair of hands to refix the chrome frame back in place , so a bit here and there filling in time but all being well i pick the crossmember up tomorrow afternoon yippee i can crack back on then full steam ahead

hi derek

all the wheels are the same size im sure i will double check but only difference is two of them say import in the centre where the date of the car is stamped normaly

they was really caked up in hammered silver hamerite paint ( cut in so to speak round the chrome hub cap ) so i had a go at them with paint remover , some cleaning with power tools should finish it off but they look so rought atm lol white paint , silver paint chips the lot will be ten times better when they have had the TLC

Default petrol tank fitted and rear side glass

Just a quick update for today i picked the last of the bits up from the bodyshop as the springs needed another coat from other side up to get in all the areas and the petrol tank needed another topcoat to bring the finish up how i was after so there all done ready to be put back together .

I first coated the centre part of the crossmember up in the morning and second coated it last thing before i left off for the day pictures included.

Included another picture of the carpet to show its settled in very nice

Also fixed the rear side glass in which will need cleaning and the petrol tank is back in the car now all sealed up with the high grade tiger seal for max protection
