Spent some of the afternoon stripping the front struts out in preparation for the standard items that gatos the lifesaver has sold me, so yeah those solid top mounts i made, that was the single sh!ttest idea i have ever ever had in my life.

Quite a clean break i must say, i could probably have that welded up as someone pointed out, the shock absorption is pretty pants though in all honesty, i don't think you're supposed to be able to push the shaft to the bottom with your hands and it isn't meant to take about 30 seconds to come up again, they're toast.

Can't see your photo's Druid, not sure if its just me.

Ouch that must have made poo come out if you were driving, guessing its one of them things that need to be Genuine Volvo.

My battery is getting close to death, reads ok and half an hour on the charger gives it a boost into life to be able to start, so getting replaced with a 2nd one from work for a while, until got the main jobs on the car sorted out.

Well slept in today and it was bloody cold but was fed up of not getting jobs on the Volvo so managed to ninja a space in the car park and got cracking with the wheel bearings to cure the ticky/tappy noise from the back end.

Very easy job overall, the car has had some love so bolts were not done up to stupid levels, light dabs of copper grease have been used, and the test drive confirmed that...........the noise is gone!! YAY, not 100% it was the bearing, or taking stuff apart and cleaning it up or putting it disc retaining bolt in on the tappy side sorted it, but the noise is gone so I am happy.

On the other side found some jobs I need todo, one caliper has been replaced with a phase 1 without the spring, need a new caliper bolt since there is a random one with washers there just now. One rear ARB bush looks dodgy so will get some new ones to stick on .

So my shopping list for work over the next few days is two phase 2 calipers and carriers, can strip them down rebuild and paint them up, acquire a caliper bolt and sort a replacement battery, at least be cheap working 60 hours a week as a sales monkey at a breakers yard has some benefits.

So ticked one job off the list and add a bunch more, but getting there slowly, will get the bolt changed asap and the rest will get done over next few months , still need to take my fto/evo 3 calipers back to work to get the paint blasted off and pop the pistons out to prepare for rebuild.

while i remember, ive only seen how everything sits when its jacked up so all the angles are different, and my brain cant understand if i need longer or shorter drop links as there looks to have been contact between the arb and the chassis, and it does sit perilously close to the body when looked at from in the engine bay with it on the ground, currently got the shorter p1 links but a p2 setup.
