after market alarm system

hi peeps my question is
can you fit an after market alarm to my 1999 s80.
as my alarm has a service issue ,it has had been like
e that for about 5 months now I am guessing that the batteries have corroded the circutbord

I'm sure you could fit one, but the cost of buying and installing an insurance approved alarm of the same quality as the original, plus the inconvenience of having an additional fob to arm/disarm would probably outweigh the cost of replacing the existing siren. You would also still have the alarm service required message on the DIM which won't look good if you decide to sell the car at some later date.
