Default S60 Bonnet Open - can you disconnect sensor?

Hi all - I've had this well-known issue for a couple of years where the bonnet is closed but the cars shows this message and sets off the alarm...spraying the catches with WD40 used to solve it but it's now having no effect. Can you easily disconnect a cable to stop this message happening, or anything else that can be done?

Hi,

I had this issue on mine, WD40 then close the bonnet on the first latch then push down on the drivers side really hard to close it the rest of the way, always works for me but I'm not sure if it can actually be disconnected

Hi there,
Have a look here re the issue: https://www.4x4community.co.za/forum...net-Open-error.

This was on a Freelander 2, but some Volvos are very closely related - they share parts from same bin.

At least if you could identify the part in Post #12, you'll know whether the info is relevant.

Unplug it and stick some wire, one end in to each of the connections that closes the circuit, just done this on my bonnet (v70) and now have a working alarm

This above.
Did mine months ago shortly after purchase.
I am sure you will always remember to shut it properly as you would have done a few years ago before manufacturers felt the need to remind you that the switch had failed.

I have a Volvo V60 2014 The bonnet sensor has 3 wires going into it, does anyone know which should be joined together so the alarm doesn't go off.

Contact cleaner and WD40 doesn't seem to work anymore
