Default Car Just Stopped!!

As the title says, wife was driving the car to work this morning and it just stopped, would not restart, turns over and all the lights on the dash come on but nothing else.... Volvo Assist arranged a collection to the local dealership so we will just have to see what they say...

If they greet you with a beaming smile and they're rubbing their hands together you know you'll be in for a big bill. Let's hope not though

Apparently they think the sensor in the fuel tank is faulty as they put some diesel in and it started so Monday they plan to drop the tank and check the sensor...

That happened my S in Law. Ran out of fuel and it was level sensor as I recall. Easy fix.

Hopefully that is the problem but dropping the tank and replacing the unit may eat up some main dealer labour time....

Fuel sender unit, have someone check for burnt pins on the unit. It's always a good idea to put some solder on the pins making them thicker when replacing the unit.

Ended up it wasn't the fuel sensor that was damaged it was missing fuse No. 17 in the engine fuse box which powers the CEM which apparently is the master module for the vehicle, don't ask me what happened to the original fuse, I have never taken the fuse box lid off so the whole thing is a mystery and if it never was there how had it run before for the previous 85, 000 miles....?

What? It couldn't have just vanished into thin air

Maybe the rat ate it.
