Default Mild hybrid

I have a 2023 V60 Mild Hybrid D5 CC

Does anyone have a good explanation of how the mild hybrid works. The dealer doesn’t.

Hi the mild hybrids use a large alternator (48v I think )
To charge a fairly small 48v battery when the engine is on the overrun .
Then when you pull away from standstill or accelerate the alternator boosts the engine via a heavy duty drive belt
I had one on loan (XC60 ) and it did help smooth out accelerations .
Where my auto can sometimes get a bit confused when dealing with roundabouts and give ways the hybrid made it all seamless.
Very nice to drive but as you say if the dealers don't know what they are selling , it does make you wonder about whether to stay with volvo

you cant base all the country's volvo sales persons that on one man's misunderstanding of the system , He may not have even been a trained salesman . Its all down to that one man who was talked to rather than the companies behaviour in General.
A good description of a mild hybrid, it all helps efficiency 👍 same as the 10 year old D6 really which could get over 100 mpg if driven with the favouring conditions.
