Lightbulb De-badge front grille

this is probably one of those matters of preference and I'm sure plenty wont like the 'look' but each to their own

having debadged the rear end I wanted to get rid of the last remaining bit of tacky chrome on the front. but as I'm sure everyone knows, if you pull your badge off the grill you're left with a diagonal series of divots that dont look very good. (plus a bunch of brackety bits to cut out)

so..

I pulled the logo off and did some reconstructive surgery with little bits of 2mm plastic and some superglue:

then I did some more filling and a 1st coat of primer to identify the worst looking bits

after some further filling and sanding I'm left with this (sprayed with left-over wheel paint)

I recommend milliput as as filler because it's not messy to use, you can mix in very small quantities at a time, it's easy to get into the small gaps, it doesn't take an age to get off your fingers, doesn't stink and is easy to work when hardened

now if you get right up close and examine it, there's still trace evidence, but I really didn't have the time or inclination to do it any better. who even gets on their knees and examines a grill anyway.

a more up close sample of the worst area

I think it looks much better anyway that's all that matters to me
