Default S40 T5 FWD downpipe options

Hi All,

My downpipe has gone (just after the flexi) so I'm in need of a new downpipe. I can't stretch to a new one as they're simply too much so I'm looking at second hand.

Will a C30 T5 downpipe fit ? What other options are there ?

Cheers

Paddy

Cheers Dom. I may take you up on that if my search is still ongoing when you upgrade yours.

Just read your build thread - impressive work. A lovely looking S40 too.

Thanks mate, its taking a lot of time hopefully finish it this year to how I would like it and just leave it and enjoy it from then on.

Hopefuly early April should be getting it done. I already have someone that wanted the exhaust but he just wanted the catback system so i'l split it and you can just have the downpipe if you still need it by then.

For those that may be interested this is my understanding of downpipe compatibility thus far:
S40 T5's with chassis numbers below 484999 & C30's with chassis numbers below 170048 have the same downpipe. And likewise for those with higher chassis numbers. It seems to be coupled to the T3/T7 engine variant.

I'm tryihg to find what Focus ST-225 upgrades are compatible - if anyone knows what is or isn't then please chime in.

Cheers

ST exhaust system wont fit your car. The garage that did my exhaust thought they could speed up the process with an ST exhaust system they had and fitting that on but did fit. Obviously anything can fit with any custom work.

Im getting a V50 exhaust system and even that requires a bit of work to fit.

St225 milltek downpipe and cat/ decat will fit although it's in 2 pieces instead of 1 piece. So id say most aftermarket set ups will also. Rest of system won't though.

Thanks for that info. It's interesting & opens up some possibilities of getting something like thishttp://www.pumaspeed.co.uk/product-R...kage_16853.jsp

I suppose I'm at a crossroads as to how much money i should throw at a 15 year old car with 110k on the clock. I bought it as a stop gap until I had enough for something special - but it's tempting to see what an old T5 can be turned in to.
