Default New Clear Front Lights Fitted

And what a difference they make they dont half look nice. The passenger side one doesnt quite fit as flush as the drivers side one, but its not really noticeable, and really improves the looks.

No pictures yet as the camera batteries are flat Maybe some later if they charge before dark!

Now, rear lights. Ive seen what a nice difference clear front ones make, now Im after some rear ones, and maybe some clear indicator lenses for the side too.

I saw these on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volvo-940-960-...QQcmdZViewItem

These are what im after. Im a right in thinking these were fitted to the later 940's? and also im presuming they will fit my '89 740?

Anyone got any pics of a 740 with 940/960 rear lights fitted?

Thanks

Thumbs up

Hi James. Yes they'll fit ok. The non OEM lamps don't have the wiring colour codes on the back of them so you'll need to take note of how they fit. Also the non OEM ones are usually international - so you get 2x fog lamp holes The wiring is actually in the car - its just a matter of getting another bulbholder and you have 2x rear fogs.

Piccy attached. This is my old 945 - but its identical to a late 745.

All the best,

they look nice, if i can grab a set, i'll put some on.

At the moment im still trying to fix the dash LED problem. They just dont work. My dash has never been screwed in properly since i changed them, so i went to do that yesterday, and one of the screw heads was knackered.

If i wriggle the cluster round for long enough, they come on, so it must be a lose wire, so im just going to see if i can find the cause.

I need to do this before im going to work in the dark, and leaving in the dark!

bloody dont do i

I cant find anything thats lose, but if you pull the cluster nearly all the way out, then wriggle it around, the slighest nudge here or there, can knock the lights off.

Im really puzzled by this, i dont have a clue what could be causing it. At the moment, its just pot luck as to whether the dash lights work or not

Its ****ing me off, because apart from this, i wouldnt have any problems at all with the car.

Best thing is to double check the connectors to make sure no pins are broken or bent. Then check the wiring to make sure it all looks ok.

well everything looks ok

Its not a great problem, just an annoying one.

Maybe you can have a quick look over it at the Stoke meet if you get a spare two mins and dont mind?

You still going to need your dizzycap and leads swapped over at Stoke, James?

Not really given that much thought, Im kind of broke atm. I never did get round to ordering the stuff, and since having to pay £500 odd out for that bumper, im a bit broke untill i sell the 740 turbo.

If i can remember what to order, i'll get on it at the end of the month. It wouldnt hurt to have it done now would it.
