We went to a Volvo dealer today to try to sell our XC90 Inscription to them ,which we bought in July'15 and paid 58K for.

They offered us 39K ! Which is a loss of nearly 19K in six months and then only if we bought an other new Volvo of them. Needles to say we are having a rethink at moment , the private route seems to be favourite .

Doesn't say much for the residual value of the car , where do they get the 45% after three years from I don't know.

Glad our XC90 saga is nearly over , we haven't decided which new car we will be buying ,as we are returning back to The Netherlands at the end of this year ,when our posting here will come to an end, it is all change!

The Volvo dealers are franchises so it's well worth trying other dealers. There are very few second hand XC90 ll's on the market and they are in demand so you should be able to get a better price than that. Obviously a private sale would give the best return.

What is the mileage on it? Is it free of the dreaded heated windscreen?

There are very few second hand mark2 XC90's on the market.

Volvo had to add a night shift and take on 1,500 more workers to cope with the demand for the new XC90. They expect to make 50,000 new XC90's this year.

The waiting time for the USA new XC90 orders is 5 months.

Where did you get your info?
I would not believe any story either way. The industry is full of pre-registered cars and in the early life of a model, a lot of spin from sales and marketing.

But whatever they do, after 2 years, the truth surface and discounts appear. .. Massive if needed.

Awaiting at the moment. Temped but not convinced this new xc90 is worth that much money.

Webuyanycar sell off their cars through the auction business, their parent company British Car Auctions disposes of the cars. They also sell off Motability cars which can be low mileage well services cars. Hope that helps.

Auto trader has a lot of used XC90s. Drive the deal are offering discounts on new ones. It won't be long before they go the way of most other volvos and start to get higher discounts.
