Default Help on my new S90

Hi,

Bought a S90 Inscription yesterday - great car so far but....

I consider myself a reasonably intelligent bloke but I'm stuck on how to turn the parking sensors on!!

Read the manual, watched hours of online videos and pressed every button in the car without success!

Any ideas?

Have you found the button shown here:
https://support.volvocars.com/en-CA/...a801513164e36d

Do you have the Park Assist Camera? If so you can also activate from the camera screen.

But...whilst rear sensors are standard, I believe that front ones are optional. Even if you see ‘sensors’ in the front bumper unless you specified them by trim or as a pack they may not be physically present in your bumper.

They will probably be on, it’s just they only appear or sound when something is close, ask someone to walk around the car while you have it in reverse. Also your auto dimming rear mirror will be set to off by default...

Thanks for that, you are right! (Not feeling stupid at all....)

The last few cars i've had have shown the car sensors on the screen the moment you turn the car into reverse.

Thanks for your help.

I think it is a common query - Volvo seem to set everything up a little differently to other manufacturers - there is a so much customisation possible and they choose to be minimalistic - note that the auto handbrake is set to off by default, if the car rolls a little when you stop and you move it to park that is why.

I did wonder whether an Inscription would have front sensors as standard???

I received my S90 R-Design end of march and after taking my car to a dealer, it was confirmed that my model didn't come with Volvo On Call and from parking sensors. Looks like I'll be reversing into spaces over the next 3 years. lol

But for the PCH deal I managed to get i'm not going to complain.
