Unhappy V90 R-Design - wheel cracked

Hello all - new to this forum so bear with me!

I have a 2017 V90 T R-Design with 20" alloys. Since hitting a pothole, the front n/s wheel has cracked where the spoke joins the rim. Tyre did not deflate at the time, and crack was only discovered by the tyre centre when air began to leak...been quoted £788.33 & VAT for a new rim. Then there is the new tyre, and the rear n/s tyre has developed a bulge too, so 2 x tyres at £175 & VAT plus the wheel - looking at the best (worst?!) part of £1300 all in.

My question is - does anyone know of a cheaper source for a wheel? Are there any forum sponsors that can help at all?

Doubt there’s anything on EBay. Have you tried contacting the local authority for compensation? If in doubt claim of your car insurance?

P.S try asking in the general thread of wanted items. You may get more response. There’s a few of us V90 owners and appears good knowledge, someone may be able to help.

Hi,
Although they have no V90 wheels listed on their website at present it may be worth a phone call to these people: http://www.volvobreakers.co.uk/brand...0%202017-2018/

They not only sell new Volvo parts but also dismantle brand new undamaged models (look at the XC90 section of their website!) and may just have a V90 being dismantled with suitable wheels for you?

Good luck,

Paul

Thanks Guys,

Bit the bullet and ordered from a dealer.

All sorted now, two tyres & a wheel...£1,300.

Council? Don't make me laugh - tried that with a Passat 19" wheel a couple of years ago - lost the will to live - slippery, evasive rats!
