Default Misfire Cylinder 3 - Not firing Cylinder 2

I've been experiencing 3533 code - misfire emissions agitation but yesterday the car (other half driving) went into limp mode and engine system service warning. She said it was as if the engine wanted to jump out of the car and the whole car was shuddering. Sure enough Cylinder 2 is dead and displays code 3523 misfire emissions agitation - it is not firing at all. I disconnect the harness from the injector and there is no change.

I pulled the cylinder 2 injector and tried another injector. No change. I pulled the glow plug and it was diesel wet. I don't have a compression tester but things are pointing in the direction of something having caused sudden and severe compression loss in Cylinder 2 (and perhaps linked with the earlier minor misfire on Cylinder 3)

What's the favourite culprit? Cylinder head gasket perhaps? valve gear?

Did an oil change (edge 0/30 B4/5) and although the level was a little low - there was no oil level warning and was running quite nicely - although high fuel consumption.

The injectors need coding to the car don't they, unless you get the exact sam numbered injector ?

So.... I've removed the cam cover and immediately see symptoms..... it has thrown a rocker from Cyl 3 exhaust cam, and a rocker from Cyl 2 inlet cam.

Didn't have time to get the belts off and remove the head but that will be the next step and discover what mayhem awaits...
