Yeah I prefer the look of my old car, it even drove nicer, although thats nothing £££ worth of polybushes can solve. Still, the rest of it, dashboard etc is all 740.

This is a very old photo of my project car. It's the only photo I have! The car is now slightly less dented but a little more rusty. Sporting Aries alloys, new grille badge, mudflaps, door mouldings, and blue headlamp trims which I painted this weekend. I miss my old steel wheels! I'll try to get a new photo when the car is back on the road soon. I was 3 when I had my first ride in this car.

Here is mine,
1990 Turbo intercooler,B230FT,automatic with 241k miles. I wish to repaint it and put new window tint with new headliner this summer. Also want to find a Volvo CD changer.Want to make it look just like it left the factory 20 years ago.

The Volvo is still alive and kicking and being used semi-regularly, and is in pretty good order despite being 20 years old and having done almost 200,000 miles; it passed its 17th MOT a fortnight ago:

I regularly see at least five other 740s of various types and model years pottering around in the Volvograd area, most of which are lasting pretty well, despite seemingly being in the hands of non-enthusiasts

Our 740 in Penzance earlier this year...

I have submitted an article for Driver which I'm hoping will be in the August issue but briefly, this is our '88 740 which we acquired in Nov '07 for the princely sum of £130 (plus 10% commission, £143). At the time the odo read 250-ish k; it sails through MOTs, regularly returns 32+ mpg on runs and has now covered approx 270k miles. What a nice car!

It just looks so right in that colour. I had one in that colour and loved it to bits. Wish I could have it back again.
