S60 2011 USB port replacement ....... help needed
The USB port on my S60 (2011) has stopped working and I'm looking to replace it myself as the part is only £20 but Volvo want £185 to do the job. After several hours of googling i cannot find any reference on how to change this unit. Does the whole centre console need removing or does USB / AUX plate just pop out? Would be most grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks

I don't know how it is done but these installation instructions show you how to get into the back of the centre console and, I think, you can see the back of the usb socket in there.
https://accessories.volvocars.com/In...20(11-)%202011 If not, go to the accessories.volvocars.com page, enter your car details, then press 'services' at the top left of the page. You will find loads of installation instructions in there, which, between them shows you how do dismantle practically the whole interior of the car. Just takes time to look through them all to find what you want. |

Many thanks for your reply, I now have a better understanding as to how to approach the job after looking at the link you supplied.
Whats strange is that when i enter my vehicles details in there's no reference to this part being in my vehicle. (part no. 30775252). |

The instructions in the accessories website are only specific to the accessories available for your model of car. It is not a list for original equipment.
For that detail of instructions you would need a copy of VIDA. These are the software manuals used by Volvo for repairing your car based on it's VIN. Copies are available via ebay or some members of this forum also sell them, along with the equipment that allows you to connect it directly to the car for diagnostic work, etc. Last edited by 1monkey600; Jun 25th, 2018 at 14:45. |
