2000 V70 T5 Dim LCD

This will be posted in TWO categories please read and you will see why and plz allow this time.

Guys and Gals.

My pal has a 2000 V70 T5. a few years ago his Dim packed in, just went completely black. Everything else works ok.
So recently I took his dash out to have a look. What I found was a broken flat cable from his Dim LCD to it's connector.
Because it looks as though the only problem is this broken cable I tried to change JUST the LCD.

A trader on here MINTY very kindly took apart some old dashes he had from the P2 V70s / V60s and S80s ect cos this is a P2 car. It was slightly different, (The cable was Half the width of the original)

I am now thinking, Cos this is an early 2000 car, could it have a leftover part from a P1 S80 for instant. (As I know my 1999 S80 had the exact same dash).

Therefore,
I am asking, ANYONE who has an old damaged / Broken P1 S80 or an early P2 V70 ect, Instead of throwing it out into the bin, Could you please take a look at the DIM LCD, (You have to strip the unit down first) If it has a WIDE FLAT CABLE (Almost as wide as the LCD) Not a thin one which is Half the lenght of the Lcd, Then I am interested it it.

I don't know for sure IF this will totally fix his, But as we're playing with it, who knows.

I managed to get the LCD i needed and it worked a treat,
The dash is now 100 % and working great.

Hi ,is it possible to replace only the flat cable ,not the display. Thanks.

I don't think it is possible. The cable is glued to the screen.

Might have my V70 DIM out soon to see whats what...
Is this the same on a 2002?

Not sure, the flat cable might be only half as wide as the one above. Changing it is very easy if you have the correct replacement though.
