Various Faults
I'm having a few troubles with my '91 340 1.4
Brake servo is fooked so ordered another one from a scrappy £35, but the inlet hose is perished badly, looked in the manual and looks like a nasty job Also doing from third to second gear now crunches, anyone help on what it could be? And my heated seats (yes it has them, only optional extra on her!) and seat belt indicator on the dash doesnt work, have tried the fuses there fine and the plugs under the seat are all fine, and its really got me startled. I still have various lights, switches, centre caps, badges, etc for sale, plus a working standard Volvo cassette player (LOL) |

Just an update on the servo, fitted my new servo to the car without unbloting everything and having to re-bleed the pipes as the Haynes manual says.
Fairly straight forward job and now I haven't got too worry about if my servo will work. Happy days! Relised now though that the clutch is knackered so managed to order the kit for less than than £20! I love ebay . Shes fully serviced and acting like a right pig. When driving along normally she'll completly cut out, with no warning. Can anyone help? Also my car has got a really strong smell of petrol, with no spillages or leaks. |

The old beastie!
Methinks it might be your anti run-on solenoid, located on the passenger side of the carburettor, it has a wire attached. If this falls off or the solenoid malfunctions, you lose petrol and cut out when you throttle back. It's a great thief deterrent device. Fit a secret switch and when activated your car will start, but fail at every junction. Said tea-leaf thinks 'got a rubbish car here!' and dumps it.
Strong petrol smell: probably your tank to pump or pump to carb pipes becoming porous. Unless you have a leak under pressure which could account for cutting out. |
