Are you saying the seatbelt light is on even with the seatbelt locked in to it's holder? - Mike

Hunt around the forum for the exact guide (there is one on the S/V40 section). Same principal for your car as it is for both my S40's and my previous 2 S80's. Our latest S80 has active bixenon and those are permanently on.

In short:
1. turn ignition to the second position;
2. turn the light switch to side lights;
3. pull main beam (full beam) towards you and hold it pulled forwards, then turn the headlight switch to 0.
4. Release full beam lever.
5. turn ignition off.

That should turn off the little green light adjacent to your headlight switch (S40's have those, cant remember if our 2001 or 2003 S80 had it).
That is pretty much how to do it, but if I have missed anything, other will no doubt correct me.
Is this good for my 2005 V70 T ?

and after I've been pulled by plod too many times for driving with no lights in what he decides is fog - is there a procedure to reverse that change?

they can be activated/deactivated using vida (upto about a 2006 model - which needs a software update).
