Broken tap
Starting to doubt the build quality of the new coachman. Just had its second service so not 3 years old and while away this week the washroom tap fell to pieces.
My problem is that it's a 32 mm threaded tail fixing monoblock taps. While monoblock taps are plentiful, most have a single bolt and horseshoe washer fixing, this will be extremely difficult to access given the washbasin design. So my question is has anyone any idea what model monoblock taps come with the threaded stem fixing please. I am going Google eyed looking on the Internet. Many thanks, Paul. |

Is yours a swan neck tap?
Have you got a photo of your tap in situ? |

The tap in the listing below is what I refitted to a friend's Bailey despite the listing being for Elddis. The tap was identical and had a 32mm thread.
The screw cap holding the tap head to the body had exploded from being frozen due to him not winterising properly. They are only made from plastic. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caravan-o...edirect=mobile |

The problem is now solved. I bought a chrome on brass Sienna basin mixer tap sold by one of the bathroom wherehouses on the Internet for the princely sum of £17.99. Now fitted and tested and all good. The replacement tap looks and feels a lot better than the original. Must remember to make a note of its make and model for when it needs a new cartridge, though with cartridges running at up to £10 each it may be easier to change the tap again. Paul. |

're your concerns of the build quality of Coachman. The UK manufacturers have gone so lightweight in a bid to appeal to those with featherweight cars that they in turn have to use lighter components that have very low longevity. We moved away from UK caravans this year after a frustrating 7 yrs of bits falling off or prematurely failing, like your tap. Time will tell if the Adria we have bought is a better choice. So far so good, not one thing has caused us issue. |

I spent an evening comparing the 2017 and 2018 models, the 2017 model was a better equipped van with thicker insulation than the later one, though it was as you say heavier. The standard extracor fan on mine was a £300 extra on the following model. Paul. |
