Default RICA iSoftLoader

hi guys... just bought myself an S60 t5...

am seriously looking at a RICA remap but was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with the RICA iSoftLoader... is it easy to use, how much is the software, whats the performance like..

reason i was thinking of that is because as far as cars go im pretty happy with T5s and chances are my next car will be a T5 (just newer), and my dad is happy enough with the car that he's ditching the beemer to get one himself... so the theory is using the isoftloader i could remap both cars off the same software...

cheers
jimbob

Wrong... nice try. lol

As I understand it the software is, and has always been, car specific. The loader isn't car specific. So yes you could use the loader on two cars but there would have to be a map for each car on it.

Hi Jimbob,

what year is your car????

Here are the links for the S60 T5 RICA upgrade...

http://www.rica-uk.com/viewcar.aspx?vehicle=153

&

http://www.rica-uk.com/viewcar.aspx?vehicle=154

You wont be disappointed with the upgraded from RICA. Also, depending on what sort of power your after, RICA can also offer stage 2 maps to compliment 3" downpipes, race cats, sports cat back exhausts, front mounted intercooler..etc etc

if you go on the RICA website in my signature, it will show a list of all RICA dealers, just find the closest one to you and contact them.....

hth

I can't comment on the RICA product, However it would seem many people are dissapointed in both you and Adam.

http://forums.t5d5.org/topic/12323-w...mrg-track-day/

The levels that Adam, and those that work with him will stoop to amaze me.

Perhaps an explanation will be forth comming, but I doubt it.

seems like most of them have been motorway miles as the car has been SORNed quite a few times in its life...

another quick question... gonna have her given the once over and a little service (oil, filters, nothing special) when im on holiday by my mechanic... what sort of things should i cleaan/check/replace in order to prep my car for a remap... im thinking filters, hoses, spark plugs etc etc...

thanks for the info (going to go through it in a minute)...

before the remap, i would suggest a stage 0 tune. Which is basically your ignition system check and replace if need be, the filters, check all your hoses/vac pipes/boost hoses for any leaks, oils/lubricants etc.....

then take it from there.

Here is a brief summary:

1. You connect the iSoftloader to the car and the iSoftloader reads the software in the ECU.

2. You then "sync" the iSoftloader with the RICA server which uploads the ECU information to RICA.

3. All being well, within 24 hours your software is ready and you can "sync" again to download the tuned file to the iSoftloader.

4. The final step is to program the car.

Since the device works as a standalone handheld programmer, you don't need a laptop to program the car. Any PC with Windows XP / Vista / Windows 7 will work.

ah i see... so i take it any fault codes or major problems with my car will be seen by RICA and they will then send me through an appropriate map...

might be worth looking into...

any other remapping firms i should know about and what are their pros, cons and of course costs?
