SRS code deciphering SRS-020E
Just went to a friendly garage who managed to read the codes on my v70 98/99 for the SRS light. One of them was expected as ive just done a seat swap and havent got the correct resistors in place yet as the new seats are mechanical fire.
However, there was a second code on there that i presume is the reason the light was on before the seat swap and read - SRS-020E 'ORS module incorrect data' Ive searched and found that ORS in vida can mean Occupant remote Sensor but i have found absolutely nothing else and so i arrive here ! |

The obvious answer is that your original seats were electrically fired so the passenger seat probably had a sensor in it to tell the system if someone was sat in it - then in an accident it would only operate the seat airbags if someone was sat in it.
The easiest solution would be to find alternative front seats which match your system. I personally think your insurance company would take a dim view if you had an accident and this was discovered. The electric system is considerably safer if you take into account that the mechanical ones have to be physically hit by something to set them off whereas the electric ones have sensors in the car to detect an impact and therefore are more likely to fire in a big accident. E.G. if you roll it the chances of the mechanical trigger being set off are fairly small but you could do with the seat bags deploying which the electrical system should do.
