It crazy how much cars depreciate... But I've seen so many P1 platform T5s going for peanuts lately, albeit around 100k mileage.
It's probably a given that this is timing belt service territory so people just see it as extra money to spend.

Hi Duncan,

Sure does! The car is still running very well (especially after that suspension work last week ) but it was Jen's car so wasn't kept to the high standard (looks wise) that I'd have down for my own car Still, I gave it a decent wash and it's still looking good for the age/mileage.

Price wise, I just don't think people are willing to pay more for one of these. The demand isn't there as Volvo didn't keep making hot hatches (or saloons). If you look at similar era Leon Cupras or Focus STs then they are worth more as young folk entering the hot hatch segment for the first time are looking at the new cars and then seeing the second-hand ones they can afford.

18/3/16: timing belt service (99376 miles)

Note the mileage since then... :S

That's a bargain, I can't think of many better cars to smash about in for the money.

Rust looks nasty and will doubtless put off buyers - is that an accident repair or similar? First rusty P1 car I've seen!

My S40 wheel arches began to bubble at 12yrs old. Our V50 has a rusted wheel arch at 9yrs old. I'm not terribly impressed by the paint quality TBH. The V50 is going in next month to have the offending arch stripped back and resprayed.
