Default Turbo trouble

Had the problem of the car going into limp mode since i bought it.
Diagnosed as sticking vnt.
Bought another one from a breakers and had it fitted this week.

This one whines constantly so i guess it's also a dud.
What i don't understand is the whine is present with foot off the accelerator ie coasting .
As far as i can tell there are no air leaks , and there is no limp mode.
Pulls well if I'm honest.

The original I'm planning to exchange at aet turbos chester , any experience of them?
Cheers

Default Turbo VNT cleaning tutorial

Why not clean the original?
Here is a step-by-step tutorial. It's not that difficult.

Appreciate what you're saying but one turbo whines and the other doesn't on the same set up.

The whine is VERY noticeable while just revving.

When you fitted the turbo did you test the play before you fitted it,
look at the cold air pipe to the turbo as these split,is the breather pipe fitted as it should with no leaks?
also look at the bottom of the intercooler is there any oil there,
Dave

The intake pipe is 6 mnths old ,everything is fitted as it should be , there is no oil , the only moisture is ps fluid but that's been fixed. Both mounts are new.

The only difference is the turbo , as for play , they were roughly the same.

I never liked the wine when I had a new engine (+ turbo) fitted.

Do you have a lack of power at low revs by any chance with the 'new' turbo?
