Also for those that wear polarised sun glasses, they pretty much prevent you from seeing the HUD. Which is annoying.

I should be getting my XC60 next month - I live in Warsaw so we have really long winter so heated windscreen was obvious choice - even tough it delayed the car delivery 1 month according to the dealer

Not much choice for us really as we were looking for a car in stock with a dealer for quick delivery. The XC90 had just arrived and had winter pack with heated screen. Probably wouldn't have specc'd it, but will be handy when/if needed, think the heated steering will get some use with my wife.

Never really felt the need for HUD, had it in courtesy cars and thought it a bit gimmicky for a car. Now if it had a missile "lock-on" mode, that would be another matter

Yes can we start a petition for this option, maybe needs 2 offerings 1) To use against middle lane hoggers etc... 2) Well I guess most will know - Not that I condone Speeding in built up areas but some of the so call Safety camera van's & camera's take the P on there placement.

Volvo are missing a few tricks with the HUD. Continental (who actually design and implement all of the "Volvo" driver support technology) offer the HUD with an augmented reality mode where it draws boxes around, for example, the car the adaptive cruise is locked on to.

I think it's a great idea. The heated windscreen is brilliant about 5 times a year, this is useful on every journey.

The HUD in swmbo's Prius was okay with my polarized specs. Must use a different projection method.
Maybe Volvo techs could examine a Prius and find a fix one day.

It does not affect all the polarisers. I have different ones and some of them are fine (they are polarised as I can see glare cut off and contrast pop when putting them on). Oakley prizm doesn’t work but sundogs polarised I can see hud.
The wires in heated screen however are there with glasses or not - do not try to spot them - if you do once you will see them every time.

It appears this topic has become somewhat academic for me, as the dealer my employer's leasing company is using here in NL has just contacted me to say that the Heated Front Screen I optioned on my T8 is not available for the 'foreseeable future' according to Volvo, whatever that means.

I will change my order to include the Head Up display, as I would have had it if it was possible with the Heated Screen.

I suppose the Screen was only a bit of a nice to have considering the car has the pre-heater of course.

It depends which direction the lenses are set up. If you hold polarised glasses in front of an LED screen and rotate them, you should get to a point where the screen 'blacks out' and then becomes visible again as you continue the rotation.
If I had my sunglasses on I had to lean my head to the side to clearly see the screen on my old Tomtom sat on the dashtop.

Sorry to be pedantic, but there is no such thing as an LED screen. It's an LCD with LED backlighting
