Default 940 exhaust

Got a bit of a blow on the exhaust so I popped it into a well known exhaust and brake place for the free exhaust check

Reckon I can get a bit of a better deal somewhere else ?

Default Full exhaust

This is a quote for a full exhaust, including cat and front pipe between turbo and cat. Do you really need these? Usually just the section from the cat to tail pipe incl. both silencers is replaced.
If the loose flanges on the front pipe and cat pipe are badly corroded one or both can be replaced by three section flanges that can be assembled around the pipe.

There is a small hole in downpipe and the connection from that to the cat does look pretty ropey

They must be on drugs! If they're not, they need to be!

Go on ebay and type in the refernce numbers for the various parts e.g. VO119 etc and set your ebay search to "Lowest price + P&P". You will be amazed how cheaply you can get the complete system for!

Should be about an hour to fit with decent tools and preferably a 4 post ramp but even without, sholdn't take that much longer laying in the driveway with the car up on axle stands.
Alternatively, find a tame local mechanic, get the bits yourself from ebay (don't forget the gaskets and rubbers) and see how much he'd charge to fit it for you - much cheaper than Fik-Wit or similar!

I know. They must think people are mad.

Think I've sourced one and will get my mate who owns a garage to fit so should cost around £40.00 for an hour labour

Pity as the Nasa stainless steel one with gold plating from thick twit would've been nice

Gong back a couple of years, a friend of mine had a complete stainless system built for his Rover 820i - complete as in downpipes, cat replacement pipe (decat) and full system.
Cost including fitting was about £450-500 so about half what you were quoted.

Recently he had a cat-back system from the same place, also in stainless built for his Lexus LS430 at a similar cost and that has a silencer each side at the back. Both systems would use about the same amount of pipework as a Volvo 7/9xx or S/V90, similar amount of silencers etc so the price is a good comparison to how much these so-called "cheap" centres are making!

The little S tailpipe is a tenner. They are nearly £80.00
