Rear Parking Sensor Replacement - Guide
Guys - a quick guide...
Firstly - this post is provided as-is, It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that all work is carried out observing all required saftey precautions. Unfortunately, you must remove the rear bumper to gain access, as the sensors are under a bar, inside the bumper cover. See my article here on bumper removal if you need a guide.. http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=104615 So, with the bumper off, have a look inside the bumper cover... you need to remove the black moulded bar running left to right (with the studs that hold the bumper to the vehicle visible) There are a series of clips shown here that you must release - the bottom ones are obvious, and the second picture shows the top ones that dont look quite so obvious how they release... its a simple sideways unclip with a screwdriver, however... Once the clips have been released, the bumper cover comes off the bar very easily, leaving you to unclip the wiring to each of the 4 sensors as you go.... Here is a sensor, part number 30765108 if anyone needs it! Reasembly is a reversal of removal as they say! I am also happy to say that the replacement sensor fixed the problem, and did not need VIDA to reset the dashboard error message. I did cheat however, and used VIDA to tell me which sensor had failed, so if you dont have access to VIDA, then you may be swapping sensors for a wee while! The sensors are numbered 1 to 4, with 1 being the nearside and 4 offside while looking at the rear of the car. (Thanks Neil) David Last edited by BestGear; Sep 13th, 2010 at 21:53. |

hello BestGear, I was hoping you could send me a link to view your photos that don't seem to be visible anymore regarding replacing parking sensors on the xc90. It would be great to have your pictures for comparison.
Regards in advance Baldur |

Use the photobucket hotlink addon for either Firefox or Chrome as posted by classicswede a few days ago. You should be able to see the pics then. I can see them.
