Well worth the hours trip then. Vote with your feet and use the decent dealer. Some franchises give a product a bad name. We would t use a nearby franchise ,not Volvo ,as they have an obnoxious manager . We chose to visit their other branch twenty something miles away and were amazed at the difference in attitude and prices for trade in and servicing !

I try to ensure that mine aren't set to auto-fold when I lock the car during the wintery months as I find they struggle to re-open during a hard frost and imagine it doesn't do them any good...

I always have mine set to auto-fold. Occasionally they are frozen and don't move, but so far, that has caused nothing in the way of damage. Some days I think about it before hand, and give them a hand (literally) before I get into the car. Usually, just rocking them a little will break the ice and they do the rest themselves.
