Default Hardwiring a Dashcam

I'm putting a Dashcam in both cars, after my wife had a prat in a BMW decide to turn into her V70 the other evening.

It's a Nextbase 512, going into a 2013 MY XC90.

Looking for a switched live to feed it as I don't really fancy using the lighter plug. And I'll keep forgetting to plug it in....

Any tips or pointers would be ace, don't fancy blowing up my pride and joy!

(I've got a similar thread running in the V70 section, as I'm doing both cars)

I know there are a few mini blade fuses in the XC90 side fuse box, and Standard size ones too.... plenty to choose from...... and no splicing..... perfect.

I’ve not come across these before, what an excellent idea. Thanks for the heads up!

Hi I fitted Nextbase 112 in my 2012 XC90 SE LUX
I bought of ebay the Dash cam Hardwire fixing kit for Next base it comes with plenty of cable and has the plug already fitted to connect dash cam the cable goes behind mirror assemby unit and down drivers side window panel into fuse box on end of the dash board .
there is not a switched supply of ignition in that small fuse box so took panel of in drivers footwell were ther is another fuse board i picked up the fuse for auxiliary socket on dash ie old cig lighter one and used piggy back fuse on that
Dash cam comes on soon as you turn ignition on and goes off when turned off the wires just shove behind trim and the suction pad for dash cam is just on passenger side towards middle make sure sun visor clears it really neat job looks spot on
cannot rember what fuse number was but it is deffo auxillary 12 socket on dash
enjoy

Mick

I have a dashcam hardwired. Fuse 11 on the driver's footwell, this is for the 12V sockets.
