V60 vea d4 died at 60mph
65 plate v60 d4 died on the dual carriageway, no warning lights, no tortoise, no limp mode just suddenly 0 power and instantly stalled as soon as I stopped. Started again briefly then stalled. Recovery man reckons lack of fuel. Not had a chance to plug it into diagnostics yet however thought I'd see if anyone had something similar, sensors, fuel tank pump ....????? I assume that egr issues would result in limp mode not completely dying??

I can open those pics, but they're too small for me to read... can you type them into a post.
My EGR stuck open but the engine still idled

The same happened to me on my XC70 many years ago - after many attempts to resolve the workshop swapped the fuel pump relay with another (dealer) car's and problem disappeared. Thereafter it was a simple and not expensive fix ...

My S60 D4 had a similar issue (although no limp mode)
lost a lot of power could barely reach 30mph, got it home, switched engine off (it didn't stall) it started again but died instantly, after that it wouldn't fire at all and it turned out to be the EGR and cooler issue |

Try the relay fix suggested above, I had one go in a Cavalier near Wolverhampton one night many moons ago, luckily I was heading down a decline and managed to get off the motorway ok, car restarted but refused to start a few days later from cold.
