Default Change Nivomats 940 Sport Edition - hard or not?

My garage said one of the rear Nivos on my Sport Edition is past it. But it also said he did not fancy changing the Nivos - even though I have a CORRECT pair got from Trust Motor Parts before their sad demise.

Is this a sod of a job?

If its same as changing normal shockers it's a complete doddle ! I did my 940 rear shocks in about an hour all in including springs. 1 bolt at top 1 bolt at bottom and if changing springs there is a bolt up into the body. It's probably one of the easiest jobs you can do

Yep it is so easy to do I would imagine someone even with very little mechanical knowledge or practical experience could do it.

Very easy DIY job. With basic tools and a jack you should be able to do the job in about an hour

I think I would start looking for another garage if they don't know how to change 940 shocks as well !!

I've not done the job myself but my garage had no problem replacing Nivos on a previous 940. I gather the only potential pitfall is if one of the captive nuts inside the box section comes loose. Probably avoidable with plenty of penetrating oil and a bit of care.

Top bolt goes into captive nut but it's very well protected and normally comes out like a brand new bolt. Bottom fixing is a nut and bolt so may need a bit of penetrating or heat to get off but I've never had an issue. An impact wrench makes it even easier which I would've thought a garage would have !!
