Default ABS Light Constantly on

Hi Peeps,

I took my baby on a 150 mile drive on saturday and it was fine all the way, When i got back in to go home the ABS light stayed on when I turned the key to stage 2 and when i fired the engine it wouldn't go out. It is strange how it didnt come on for 150 miles then it came on when i got back in to go home.

Has anyone got any idea's? before i take it to my local volvo stratstone garage.

Shes a Volvo S40 97 P reg

Cheers

Dan.

Hi,

First thing to do is get your fault codes read and cleared so you know where the problem may lie.

There are lots of posts on ABS and the 800 series and early V70's with either dirty sensors causing the problem or the ABS module with dry solder joints...
Not sure where your issue may lie and I haven't seen many ABS posts for the 40 series...

I have an "Intermittent ABS issue which is the continuity of the cable from the rear sensor (speedo sender) so the problem could be anywhere.

Hence getting the codes or you're working blind..

Des. . .
