Good man. I thought the splice connector option looked a decent bet but a plug would do too.
I agree with poster two above. Tony the forum needs you! |

Never seen those plugs before, look decent enough but personally I would solder or put a tad of superglue just to make it that extra snug. I would do a write up but too busy at the moment with work and a few other things to the car. Plan on fitting footwell lights but nothing brings just a little glow and lights in the door handles 😬

Done and dusted.
Just completed my upgrade to the day running lights on the V70. Maplins and a little fettling were the trick.
Cracking result and my ten thumbs were in synchronicity for once! One happy camper! |

Thankfully now in clinical research where there is less risk and grey cells are not taxed too much. |

I also purchased the module from Evgeny and installed it successfully.
Now I was wondering about the following things: - The wires from the module are much thinner than the original wires that you see in the plug. Could that be an issue? - I often drive long distances (8h plus) without turning off the car. Could that be a problem on this 'upgrade' in terms of overheating the wires? So do you feel this is 100% safe? The last thing I want is to start having electrical problems with my otherwise reliable XC70, just because of a fancy look. |

TBH a don't think there is enough power going threw to cause any faults, if anything I'm sure the resistor will go dead. I put a fuse in just in case though. I'm no electriction though so could be wrong....

LEDs drawer a fraction of the power of incandescent bulbs, but the light clusters have lots of LEDs so the power saving is somewhat reduced. I wouldn't be too concerned as I'm sure the seller knows what he's doing as he also does a remote tailgate closing mod which is quite widely used.
If in doubt, contact him and get him to confirm the technical info. |

Hi all, I did my 2010 V70 which only had one plug & not two as described in the video. I did find the right coloured wires & fitted a Maplin 39p resistor. It worked OK except the upper lights no longer work as brake lights. The lower lights & the high level still work as brake lights but the vertical lights also now come on with side/parking lights. Cheers,JDmac

I only have one plug also due to us not having the electronic tailgate? You mean the lower lights and the third brake light only work now after you have done the mod? Make sure your boot is closed over properly as if it's not closed over the lower lights act as brake lights too.
