I wonder if these covers are to stop people seeing the rust on the brake discs that appears after a couple of days not using the car?

If not what is the purpose of them?

I think that the vehicle manufacturers use these covers to protect the discs from being contaminated from the anti-corrosion material applied to the bodywork prior to delivery.

Cheers Matt.
Pity there isn't some sort of protection from disk brake contamination tho.

Agreed. Certainly a pain to scrub off, although, at least it means the brakes are still working..

If so, I'd be keen to hear your opinions of the engine/gearbox in a week or two..
No it's not t5 but it has similar specs but less turbo pressure. They're both 4 cylinder, 2000cc engines. T5 is 240hp and 2.0t is 203. According to volvo.de their comsumption is same. Both comes with powershift.

They're 20 rims, waiting for new tires (255/45 20 Pirelli ice & snow) and new protectors (alloygators)

Default Back light of the instrument panel

A question to the xc60-T6 2011 owners: Do you get the white back light in the instrument panel, and it can not be changed? I realize I observed it was a nice blue back light while I was test-driving one from the dealership.

There's not many in the UK that has the T6 but most models are similar. Sounds like you tested the R-DESIGN? I would have said no it cannot be changed.
