I would imagine because he stopped being a nomadic pastoralist and moved back to England from Iran

When you mentioned Qashqai and disaster in the same sentence, I thought ....mmmm.....wonder if thats what the word Qashqai means, so googled it..!!

.....it appears they will discontinue in due course....maybe when new regs come in with emissions perhaps or when stock of the 5 cylinder engines is exhausted?

Although one of the biggest things I would change to the XC60, is changing out the dated digital displays in the instrument cluster, I am not too fond of the concept pictures shown at the link given in the first post. I think Volvo could do a more elegant solution and still update those displays. They need to keep consistency between all displays, the sensus display, the displays at the instrument cluster, and even the bight green digital compass in the mirror.

That was the first thing I turned off when I got the car, I had forgotten about it, not got lost in the last 3 years so I haven't missed it at all.
