UPD:

it is not possible to retro-fit family pack (with integrated booster seats) according to my Volvo dealer

ordered a volvo branded seat to check on friday

p.s. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ter-seats.html

The Which? overall ‘best buy’ was the Volvo Infant Car Seat at a pricey £250. However, its other recommendations included the Graco Logico S HP, (£80 to £125); the Cybex Solution X-Fix (£150); the Maxi-Cosi Pearl (£290); the Kiddy Guardian Pro (£219) and the Concord Transformer T (£170).

Which? also named a number of seats it said performed badly in crash tests. These included the £90 Sunshine Kids Monterey, where the instructions recommend the removal of the backrest for children over 15kg, the I’Coo C-Care, the Volvo Convertible Car Seat, the Besafe iZi Combi X2, the Brio Zento and the Chicco Neptune.

Hi

I have exactly the same issue at the moment. Trying to get a good seat for my 4 year old daughter for my V60. All the ones in Mothercare and Halfords are not compatible with the rear hear restraints, which is quite frustrating and quite annoying for a family car! Have not approached Volvo yet however. I do want a proper car seat, with side support as basic booster seats are simply no good.

Did you get anywhere with finding a suitable seat? Would be grateful for any advice.

Thanks

Richard

The ISOFIX standard has a weight loading of 33kg.
Hence why the larger seats use the car seatbelt to secure as the combined weight of seat/child will be greater than this.
You can get some larger seats with ISOFIX but they only help locate the seat in the car and still really on the car seatbelt to strap the child in.

Look at the Britax range. The volvo branded child seats are just re-badged britax seats. They may not be the latest models but if the volvo ones fit ok, other britax's should do as well.

Default new xc60 rear car seat

Just bought a volvo branded £230 car seat hoping this stupid problem is addressed and guess what - it still doesn't fit !

I think its an absolute disgrace on a brand designed to make family cars and the xc60 being made exactly for that

1. despite all the marketing not testing car seat to fit right !! how did this even pass ncap ??
2. and without allowing head reset removal ?
3. and when the 300% margin Volvo branded Britax car seat doesn't fit ??

very tempted to sell the car I just bought !

Want to perhaps explain your issue rather than ranting? You may find that we can help you.

Lots of people have bought car seats and that have all fitted until your issue.

Default V60 headrest removal

May I point you in the direction of this post, to allow the removal of the headrests on a V60, I would assume, XC60 is similar.

Good link to that other thread - wish I'd known that a few years ago. I just tolerated the poor fitting of child seats, including the very expensive Volvo ones I bought assuming they would fit. My kids are now too big for full car seats.

Poor show from Volvo, but good effort from Volvo Forums.
