personally i wouldn't run it alongside a remap, with a remap the max air/overboost limit would of been either raised or removed so if you do set the controller wrong (or just go silly like i would) you could end up running too much boost & bending the rods if you do decide to fit it then you'll be better off bypassing the BCS & running the boost controller straight between the small turbo pressure pipe & the actuator what make/model controller you got? |

rica has always been too smooth a power delivery wise for my liking, but with that lump in a Beetle it should still put a smile on your face (especially when you've been thru 3 different turbo's). I'm not saying the controller can't be used, just saying you've got to be carefull because i don't think the rica ecu would limit the boost if it got to much (even BT's ecu can ignition cut). I'd be tempted to try it with a standard ecu & see how it feels, i assume the controller has variable gain so you'll be able to make the turbo kick in with some aggression? |

con-rods will only allow you to run more boost, but if you not happy with how quick/aggressive the boost is they won't make any difference have you got any pics of your boost controller, i'm curious what its like |

i managed to knick a bigger picture but only a bit better
from the pic now tho you can see the control unit has only got 1 knob, which i'm guessing is the boost level. So you won't have control of how aggressive the boost cuts in, & could possibly boost too high at low rpm meaning bent mister con-rod (this is only a guess, you'll have to let me know more when it turns up) i powered my boost controller up yest & think you need to be qualified by NASA to set it up lol PS i'm not going to ask what the vests for |

its an amazing piece of kit, you can
its not to bad to wire up, theres only 7 wires on it but some do need to go to specialist terminals off the ecu (which i guess isn't going to be hard for you as your ecu is in the cabin as well) i'd be tempted to try an MBC first see if that makes the difference your after |
