Default Ecu T4

Hello everyone, I have a doubt. Is the ecu of the Volvo S40 T4 from the year 2000 onwards compatible with my Volvo S40 T4 from the year 98?

and with a tuning could not be adapted? I currently own 284 HP, but the ecu is failing me and I'm looking for one to replace it and re-tune it

PH1 T4 has Siemens EMS2000 ECU. As far as I know, it is quite difficult to tune. I have been told that EPROM cannot be programed in the ECU, but should be taken out (de-soldered?) and programed separately in EPROM programator. I know it can be done, but obviously people who know how to do it are not willing to share :-(
