Testing water- slimming down fleet…GLT, Torslanda and GL Est
Hi all
I’m looking to vastly trim down my modest car collection as I’ll be retiring soon and will be selling my unit and losing my car storage. I currently have 3 x 240s and will likely ask my son to put them on eBay for me in due course along with a couple of old Mercedes’ and a Jaguar XJSport. I’m wanting to keep 2 cars at most so very regrettably I will need to part with some cars. I will in sue course do proper adverts but wanted to do a very quick note on here incase a fellow enthusiast would like first chance at them. I appreciate values are all over the place but I’ve done lots of work to these cars and am happy to provide them each with a years fresh MOT as required. Please take current MOT status/ history with pinch of salt as it doesn’t reflect either the condition or final sale status of the cars. For example the white Torslanda was slated by Kwik Fit at last MOT for having corrosion everywhere when infact it is a very very solid car and simply has the usual surface corrosion on susp and exhaust you would expect! I never really intended on selling them and so I’ve likely spent much more on them than I’m looking to recoup but I intend to price them at what I think they are worth and what I think is fair. Very happy to have someone use a ramp here to check them over and would in all honesty prefer that so you can see the work I’ve had done and know they are good solid cars. So I have: F-reg 240 GLT Saloon (formerly owned by forum member and in my time it’s had a small fortune spent on it with replacement doors/ respray and all rust taken care of)- £4000 firm. K reg 240 Torslanda (will be MOTd soon)- £4000 G reg 240 GL 7 seat estate (as above can be MOTd) £2850 firm Also have a M reg Mercedes E300D om606 auto saloon with leather (I know it’s not Swedish but it’s a fab old machine ! ) Ideally I’ll sell two and keep one. I love them all equally and I’m in no rush to sell and I genuinely prefer the cars (I have the affliction badly) as opposed to £ in the bank but storage will soon be an issue. I will not and do not claim they are in any way “mint” but they are in my opinion excellent value for money given condition and I maintain them well having had Cam Belts etc recently replaced. Anyway If you know anyone that may be interested, feel free to PM me- I can provide lots more info as feel I’m waffling on a bit here with an impromptu post. All are located in Glasgow/ Edinburgh Scotland Will try upload a couple of pictures now. Thank you Will |

It’s the last one pictured. It is a 7 seater with leather, auto. Drives well- needs a bit of cosmetic tidying but not the worst.

[It’s the last one pictured.]
Thanks. I missed the lack of roof bars and thought it was the same as the other white one.

Any chance I can pop by for a look at the white 240 ? If it's in the same place as the grey one I'm about a mile down the road

I’m afraid not sorry. I had to pay £170 for one (used) after buying one from Europe and not realising it was a completely different set up presumably difference being LHD and RHD. Slamannan Jim may be able to help?
