Default fuel driven heater dead

Now when the cold has really come and ive been using the engine heater almost everyday before i go to work, but now its not working at all.

first symptoms was that some times the car was cold when i went to my car, at first i though i forgot setting the clock previous day but then it happend more and more.
Also i noticed that when i start the car with cold engine it would just run a few seconds before it shut down (lots of smoke from the wheelwell), this happend a couple times before a message in dashboard that it needs service and its completly off.

Usual cause of these heaters failing is
A) blocked nozzle on injector /carbon build up deflecting fuel spray
B) Glowplug igniter not getting hot enough to ignite fuel spray
C) fuel pump stuffed & not enough pressure to atomise fuel for ignition .

For guidance refer to https://www.eberspacher.com/ for dealers/service agents

They know way more than volvo & they normally are the people who stealerships employ to resolve aux heater faults

Also find a local HGV repairers & ask who does their heater servicing
