Did volvo ever manufacture a 240 estate with a sunroof? Only ever seen them on saloons

From what I have gleaned from this forum it would seem all aftermarket.

I believe there was a roof/ door pillar reinforcement strip inbetween and to fit the sunroof you just cut it out!

Rain holes is the best description

You could get the metal sliding roof on the estate but it is rare. Most are the crummy glass pop up type

My SE estate sunroof is metal tilt and slide. Perhaps it is dealer fitted?

Back in the late 1980s I saw three separate 245GLTs - one in gold, the other two I can't remember - that had steel sun roofs, all of them around Edinburgh. The gold one sticks in my mnid because a) it was the first time I'd seen an estate with one, and b) it had a full auxiliary gauge pack: at night it looked really impressive with lighting everywhere on the centre console.

One of the others belonged to a wine merchant who sold me several bottles of very good wine!

So, yes there were some.

I think new cars could be ordered with a variety of optional extras.
My 1991 SE estate came with optional pop-up glass sunroof.
It says VOLVO on the glass.
