Injector learning at max limit
Hi all,
my 2011 V50 D2 has two active codes for cilinder 1 and 2. "fuel injector offset learning at max limit. ECM-P02CF00 and PO2CD00 I erased all codes with VIDA about 5000 miles ago. And I have not had any problems since I bought the car. No hesitation, hard starting or any other problems that come with the usual injector problems. I have used a bottle of wynns injector cleaner a while ago. The fault code is still active however. Just wondering what this could cause since there are simply no noticible problems with the car. No check engine light or maintenance messages on the dash either. If anyone who could shed some light on this and maybe knows a way to clear this issue or prevent a failing injector to go bad. |

I've had this fault code for Injectors 1, 2 & 3 and had the car for 3 years.
Injector 1 failed last June and the local Volvo Specialist think injector 2 and 3 need changing now. I've never had any running issues with these active faults until recently. Injector 1 was replaced last June, then started leaking when the winter/cold months started. I had the copper washer replaced and it now runs with a misfire between 1600rpm and 2000rpm I also have a knackered alternator. Before the copper washer was failing and during that time, the car ran with no issues at all. Late 40's mpg wise. The D2 engine has known issues with the injectors and I think it's just a matter of time before they all require replacement. They also need to be coded to the car and adaptations running to make them run right. I could report back tomorrow after mine has had 2 new injectors and the alternator replaced. I'm not sure injector 2 and 3 are the problem as like I said, I've had those fault codes for 3 years and the running issues only started since Injector 1 copper washer was replaced.

Did you run the car for 3 years knowing it had these faults? In that case it wouldn't be such an issue to me since I expected they needed changing around 160k miles anyway.
I'm doing 53mph average. I can easily get 60 if I try hard. No diesel smell or smoke either. |

My 2012 V50 D2 has had the same fault on 3 cylinders for two years. No noticable issues when dirving. Average consumption 42 mpg. The cost of new injectors means that I am not dealing with it.

Thanks for your reply. Glad you are driving around with this fault code without problems.
Still a bit weird that it throws a code without engine lights and or problems for a couple of years isn't it? |

Yes. It ran fine as well. Never really saw over 50mpg though.
The specialist has now changed those 2 injectors so I checked with Vida this morning and those fault codes have now gone. Misfire is still there, so I'm pretty sure injector 1 is at fault. Alternator replaced though, but battery voltage is still at 12.6v when the engine is running.....

Can I ask how much you have paid for an injector and where you got them from?

The 1 last year replaced by the mobile mechanic cost me about £250 supplied and fitted. It looked like it was a Ford part, white box with standard sticker.

I was at my local garage today for fitting a new aux-belt and belt tensioner. I aksed him to look into the fault codes on injector 1 and 2 learning at max limit.
I told him I had no problems last 7000+ miles. According to him it was no indication that the injector is faulty, but that the injector probably is replaced by the previous owner and not entered and learned into the CEM. As long as there are no problems whatsoever he said not to worry about it |
